So I caught Mr. Vargas leaving a meeting with his new found love, the Jordon IV’s. Even through it all his love for those sneakers even makes me smile that he’s happy, and while he was enjoying opening up the box I had a few questions for him.
What drives a man like you to reach out for the stars, and not to be a man who just views but tries to take hold?
Whoa right out with it huh. Well Honestly? Flashing lights…like im so in love with the stage, with the subwoofers pulsating the floor, and the lights…I live in those lights and for those 45 minutes when I’m stage, everything seems so right. Everything feels perfect, like I’m on top of the world. I remember when my Mom went to my first big show, and at show as the beat dropped the crowd went crazy and the only thing I could see when the lights came on was my Mom smiling at me through all the people throwing up V’s and singing my songs.
That moment was worth everything to me, so I do it for her a lot too. I want her to have the things that she couldn’t when she was busy raising my little bad self.
[he laughs]
What does a man of your caliber look for when looking at a woman?
Style, smile, and realness. In that order of course. [smirking]
But for real she gots to be cool with me and my people. She has to be interesting and have something more than just bills. Like she has to have her own dreams and be doing something about them. She has to be a girl I can take anywhere and look good with, and be able to keep up with everything I’ve got going on in my life.
So do you put work first?
Um, no not really [laughing] I really just try to be in the moment with dating and working on music. If I’m really feeling my music I get really consumed with it, and the same with the girls I talk to. I guess I should really find a balance. I’m working on it.
If you had to do a headline what artist or band who would it be?
I know who you think I’m thinking, but it’s not him (Ye). Although I’d love to do a show with him, but I would love to do a show with Lupe Fiasco. I met him once in Dallas, and he was supachill I felt like we vibed pretty well and there’s a lot I would love to ask him and kick it with him in Tokyo.
When sitting at home what you would most likely be snacking on?
Well I’m not to sure, I’m not really home too often. But when I am home around Easter time—Starburst Jellybeans! HANDS DOWN! I am not lying to ya’ll, its like crack to me the last time I got some I was with a friend and I think we bought like 3 bags of em. One for her house, one for mine, and one to share [laughing] they’re the truth.

Who would be your music influence present/childhood?
Currently I would have to say Cudi, Drake, Ye, and Mr. Hudson. With some definite sprinkles of Jay-Z, and Lupe Fiasco. Oh John Mayer too. As far as my childhood goes, Michael Jackson and Cash Money Millionaires.
Whoa that’s a huge gap.
Yeah it is [laughs] with some bone thugs as well. I feel like as a kid I got a pretty good blend of everything. And now that I’m grown my ipod has so many great song its ridiculous. It literally is the envy of many dj’s. I go from some Thome Yorke to like some Nora Jones back to some Wale and then some Family Force Five to even it all out. I try to keep it different to keep it fresh.
Anything you want to say to the readers?
Thanks for all the love and support from you guys. Twenty 10 is gonna be a great year for us, I can truly say to you guys that you will most def wanna be rolling with us, cuz we are gonna burn this place down! And read more books! [he laughs]
